Engagement

How much your members say, where they say it, how quickly they answer each other, and how they use voice.

Engagement measures conversation: how much is said, where, and by how many people. Its cards narrow by role and by channel, so you can look at one category or leave staff channels out.

Messages

Messages counts messages in each period and splits them by what they carried: plain text, attachments, links, GIFs or stickers. Colossus counts what a message contained, never what it said; the text itself is not kept.

Conversation

  • Reply share is the share of messages that reply to another message. A higher share means people are talking with each other rather than past each other.
  • Reply time sorts replies by how long after the original message they came, from under a minute to over two hours. The figure on the card is the average, so a few very late replies pull it up; the bars show the real spread.
  • Reactions per message leaves periods with no messages blank rather than drawing them as zero.

Voice

  • Voice time is the minutes spent in voice, split into speaking, muted and away. Muted covers members who muted or deafened themselves and those a moderator muted.
  • Streaming and camera is the minutes members spent sharing their screen or on camera.

When people are around

Activity by hour lays activity out by weekday and hour in your server's time zone. Switch it between messages and voice in the card's settings. It is the quickest way to pick a time for an event or an announcement.
